The Ford Edge is a mid-size SUV that released in 2007 and that's still for sale today. Initially, the crossover came in SE, SEL, and SEL Plus trims, all three driven by a 3.5-liter V6 engine capable of producing 265 horsepower. A six-speed automatic transmission came standard, while all-wheel drive (AWD) was available. Features ranged from remote keyless entry, a single-disc CD player, and aluminum wheels to perks like a two-panel panoramic sunroof, DVD-based navigation, a rear-seat entertainment system, premium audio, and more.
Skip ahead to 2022, and features would range even more widely. For instance, the SE, SEL, ST-Line, and Titanium trims that had become available would incorporate turbocharged 2.0-liter, in-line, four-cylinder engines that shelled out 250 horsepower. The ST trim, on the other hand, would get a 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged V6 built into it that would deliver 335 horsepower. Seven- and eight-speed transmission options would be available, and AWD would now come standard. Other features would include LED lighting, SYNC 4A infotainment, and the Ford Co-Pilot360 safety tech suite.
Trim levels, however, would offer distinctive options. The SE trim, for example, would gain an available Black Appearance Package. The SEL trim, for another example, would see the addition of ActiveX simulated leather seating and a heated steering wheel. An optional Convenience Package would add a 110V power outlet, front fog lights, and more, while an Adventure Package would offer off-road looks. The Titanium trim, however, would get everything from chrome accents and leather seating to B&O premium audio, while the ST would gain a Ford Performance-tuned suspension, an active noise control system, custom floor mats, and more. The Performance Brake Package available for it would upgrade the SUV's brakes, wheels, and tires.
